Chinese New Year Festival 2022
Event by Cairns and District Chinese Association Inc. (CADCAI).
Chinese New Year is a time of great joy, excitement and goodwill. In Cairns, these celebrations are brought together by CADCAI as the Cairns Chinese New Year Festival.
The Festival is celebrated over 15 days and is an opportunity for the Cairns region to share and celebrate its rich Chinese history and culture and the contributions of Chinese migrants and their descendants.
Throughout the two-week celebration, the city comes alive with feasts, fiery dragons, dancing and music. Highlights include the spectacular Chinese New Year lion and dragon performances at Cairns Lagoon Plaza and the Lantern Festival, which is held at the end of the 15 day celebration.
The Festival is proudly supported by the Queensland Government through Multicultural Affairs Qld, Cairns Regional Council and a number of local Cairns businesses and media groups.
Chinese Year of the Tiger Festival will run from 21st January to 13th February 2022!
The CNY Festival Program.
