Kids under 12 programs

Hi everyone I have had interest expressed in running a Strong Boys and Strong Girls program for Autistic and intellectually disabled children (separately) 7-12 years over the school holidays.

This program could possibly start the week of the 19th December – Mon, Wed for boys and Tues, thurs for girls from 1pm – 4pm. It will then recommence the week of 9th January for two weeks.

It will involve psycho-education on subjects relevant to this age group such as: how to manage anger and anxiety, how to make and maintain friendships and how to have healthy self-esteem.

Children will also participate in art therapy as well as Lego, card games and board games. Friendships within the group will be encouraged. Just gauging if parents and carers with children in this age group would be interested in their child participating in a group such as this over the holidays.
