Swimming at the Babinda Boulders

The Babinda Boulders is a unique natural swimming spot that is popular with tourists and locals. The pristine clear-water creek flows between large granite boulders and offers several shaded areas to rest or swim. The pool is surrounded by lush rainforest, making it an excellent place to connect with nature.

The pool is formed by huge granite boulders that line the banks of the Babinda Creek.

Cairns council has added a path and steps to this dedicated swimming spot – do NOT even think about swimming anywhere else here as other parts of this creek are extremely dangerous.

The swimming hole is quite shallow and gentle near the bank, however it does drop off to deeper water- so keep an eye on the kids!

There are toilet and picnic facilities here too!

The Devil’s Pool at the Babinda Reserve is a stunning natural wonder that is both beautiful and dangerous.  Do NOT climb the fences or swim here, people have died!.
There is a beautiful hike to overlook the pools, suitable for kids, and there are viewing platforms.

GETTING THERE: Located just over an hour’s drive south-west of Cairns, the Babinda Reserve is the perfect destination for families seeking adventure and relaxation. Grab your swimsuits, pack a picnic basket and get ready to enjoy nature’s waterpark at Babinda Boulders.
